A series of coordinated Ukrainian drone strikes across multiple Russian regions has left at least seven warehouse workers dead and dozens more injured. Local governors confirmed the attacks, which also triggered fires at oil storage facilities near the capital, Moscow.
In the Tambov region, located approximately 475 kilometers southeast of Moscow, a drone targeted a warehouse belonging to Wildberries, Russia's largest online retailer, in the city of Kotovsk. According to regional governor Yevgeny Pervishov, the attack occurred during the night shift, resulting in seven fatalities at the scene and 25 injuries. Pervishov noted that Russian defense systems had successfully intercepted 28 other drones prior to the strike, adding that the human toll could have been significantly higher had those drones reached their intended targets.
A separate drone strike hit another Wildberries facility in the city of Elektrostal, within the Moscow region, causing 24 additional injuries. Wildberries co-founder and CEO Tatyana Kim described the events as a "terrible night" for both the company and Russia, expressing her condolences to the families of those killed.
In a further development within the Moscow region, Governor Andrey Vorobyov reported that debris from a downed drone ignited a fire at an oil depot in the city of Noginsk. Two individuals were injured in that incident, and authorities evacuated a nearby maternity hospital as a safety precaution.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the operations, confirming that Ukrainian forces had targeted two logistical installations used for the supply of drone components and navigation equipment. He further claimed that an oil facility had also been struck during the offensive.
