Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has announced that China is interested in keeping Bangladesh as a partner in the context of the ongoing global trade war. He shared these observations during an event hosted by the Bangladesh-China Friendship Association in Dhaka on Saturday, July 18.
According to the minister, countries like Bangladesh are increasingly leaning toward China, driven by considerations of trade, commerce, and national security. During the event, Mirza Fakhrul called for China to take a leadership role in opposing expansionism. He noted that the bilateral relationship between Bangladesh and China has reached its highest level, and Beijing is keen to maintain this alignment as it navigates trade conflicts.
Furthermore, the minister emphasized that while fostering ties with China, Bangladesh remains committed to maintaining a balanced and robust relationship with other international partners, including neighboring India and European nations.
