The claim of Bangladesh deploying drones in the West Bengal border area of India is false and fabricated news.
Indian media outlets have claimed that Bangladesh has deployed drones in the West Bengal border area of India. The press wing of the Chief Advisor has commented that this news they claim is false and fabricated.

This information was given through a post from the verified Facebook page of the Press Wing of the Chief Advisor on Saturday (December 7) afternoon.
The post said that the news of deploying drones on the border is false and fabricated. A spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense said that Bangladesh has not deployed any drones in any part of the country except for its routine activities. The news is part of a planned operation against Bangladesh.

Earlier, the Indian media outlet India Today published a report claiming that Bangladesh has deployed drones in the West Bengal border area.

The India Today report said that Bangladesh has deployed the state-of-the-art Bayraktar TB2 drones made by Turkey in the West Bengal border area of India. It is believed that such steps have been taken due to the increasing tension in relations with India.

It is also said that such drones are mainly operated for surveillance and precision strike capabilities. The deployment of these drones around the strategically important Chicken Neck region of India has further increased concerns. For this, India has strengthened surveillance along the Bangladesh border.

According to the website of the Indian Institute of Defense Research (IDRW), the Bangladesh Armed Forces received six of the first batch of 12 Bayraktar TB-2 drones from Turkey earlier this year. This information was given by quoting sources in Bangladesh’s Defense Technology.
